This airport is so beautiful that it can’t be an airport. Its interior is predominantly green, and is so airy and well looked after that they should enter it for the Chelsea Flower Show one year.

SAN FRANCISCO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, USA (MAY 2007)
There’s something incredibly nice about ‘SFO’, having expected it to be something similar to the travesty that LAX. It’s anything but, and its airy, modern feel, with fantastic use of natural light makes it a sure-fire hit on any airport enthusiast’s list. (I’m not quite an enthusiast - yet…)

TORONTO PEARSON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, CANADA (JUNE 2007)
Between Vancouver and Toronto, there’s no contest as to which one I prefer: Vancouver wins hands down every time. That said, Pearson airport is quite good - functional and fairly spacious but certainly not as pretty as its West coast cousin.
TALLINN AIRPORT, ESTONIA (SEPTEMBER 2007)
Currently going through massive expansion, this is one of those airports that would have felt quite modern a few years back, but for whatever reason, is looking stale already. Good transport links and a fairly efficient luggage handling makes this a fair arrival point. The terminal’s ugly, however.
HELSINKI VANTAA AIRPORT (SEPTEMBER 2007)
I’m biased and I wil happily declare this as my favourite airport in the world. I’ve been here three times, and each time was a plesant experience. Crucially, my flights have taken off either on time or early every time and it’s also a very pretty place to relax and stroll around for an hour or two, looking at the numerous shops there are inside, and admiring the lovely architecture inside. A truly excellent airport.
MARIEHAMN AIRPORT, ALAND ISLANDS, FINLAND (SEPTEMBER 2007)
I doubt I’ll find a more far-flung, random airport to pass through this or next year. This is a tiny, tiny airport which serves small commercial and private aircrafts and handles barely three or four planes from Stockholm and Helsinki a day. Naturally, it’s small and rural, and quaint which makes it rather charming - esepically its 10-metre conveyor belt.
